The night life in Kuala Lumpur is simply splendid! There are so many places and night time spots to go to, you just can’t go wrong. Hundreds of restaurants offer different menus of exotic local food as well as European dishes. Clubs and bars are springing up all over the city, and numerous cafes and coffee shops welcome customers looking for a quiet place to relax. If you are visiting the most popular islands in Malaysia, our tour operators can offer you a night tour with a visit to the local night market and a dinner at a local restaurant, complete with traditional dance shows.

As the sun sets every evening, Kuala Lumpur reveals a whole new atmosphere, completely different from that of a busy vibrant city during daytime. Streets, houses, trees and even office buildings become alive in a blaze of multi-colored lights during nightfall. Bars open their doors as partygoers fill the streets and night clubs. All nightspots pulsate to the beats of the latest music. Diving into the lively party scene in Kuala Lumpur will make you wish the night would never end.

You can easily find a place that will suit your taste, whether it’s an Irish pub, karaoke lounge, jazz club, an expensive restaurant or a night club. Most of these places open in the evening and close at 1.00-2.00am. Most clubs and certain bars require a cover charge but they often include an alcoholic drink. Some nighttime spot like high-class night clubs and restaurants have strict dress codes, and will not allow entry to visitors dressed in slippers, shorts, or sports shoes. Most pubs and restaurants have “happy hours” (usually from 5.00 till 7.00pm, some until 9:00pm) offering discounted alcoholic drinks.

The heart of entertainment in Kuala Lumpur is located in the Golden Triangle – the intersection of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan P. Ramlee, and down to Petronas Twin Towers. Asian Heritage Row next to Sheraton Imperial Hotel is another vibrant area for nighttime entertainment. Changkat Bukit Bintang or simply Changkat, as locals call it, has been gaining more and more popularity as of late. If you are in the suburbs, we suggest visiting Bangsar Baru and Sri Hartamas – the most coveted places for expats in Kuala Lumpur.

Lounge bars are not something new in Kuala Lumpur, but Luna was one of the first in town. The double-story bar is located on the rooftop on 34th floor of Pacific Regency Hotel. Make yourself comfortable as you sip a cocktail by the bar or kick back on the chaise lounge by the pool. Luna Bar is very well-known for providing visitors with a stunning panoramic view of the city center. It’s the perfect place for an informal meeting or an after-work hang out. People love this place for its intimate and sophisticated atmosphere and delicious cocktails. Please note that the dress code in Luna Bar leans towards smart casual, so no slippers are allowed.

Location: The Westin Hotel

If you love salsa and samba and looking for an authentic Latino dining and atmosphere, QBa is the place to go! It’s the only bar and restaurant in Kuala Lumpur where Latino music enthusiasts gather daily to mingle and dance to live music. Make sure you wear your dancing shoes, as you won’t resist moving your hips to the beat of the music – the dancers might even give you a free lesson. The interior depicts the design elements of a real Cuban restaurant – metal balustrades, frescoes, deep-red curtains. The excellent wine selection, aromatic cigars, and exquisite Latin-American dishes will give you an authentic Havana environment. This place occupies two floors: the bar is downstairs and the restaurant offering excellent Cuban cuisine is upstairs. There is also a cigar lounge, furnished with comfortable leather sofas.

Location: Grand Millennium Hotel

Everything here is of a high standard – the exquisite selection of food and beverages, from champagne to wines to popular cocktails and beer. You can forget the time as you dance the night away to R&B music on the dance floor that can fit up to 200 people. Pulse hosts the best DJs as well as famous live bands. Location: Hotel Mandarin Oriental
As you step into this new and glamorous club, you’ll see why it’s called the Sultan Lounge. Its name reflects the chic and relaxing ambience of a Sultan’s tent - brown, yellow and white hues dominate in the interior, the tables are draped in sheer white curtains, and soft lounges and sofas are placed all around the club. The interior was designed by a group of architects known as the Dupoux Design, which are famous for their work for Buddha Bar in New York and Nikki Beach in Miami. Sultan Lounge is a great place for a night out with friends and dancing to the hottest music spun by famous international DJs.

Avenue K Shopping Complex

Quattro is located in the hotspot of Kuala Lumpur – just opposite the Twin Towers, connected by an underground walkway. It is divided into 4 venues with different season-themed names: Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring.

Summer is a cozy fusion restaurant located outside the building that gives off a welcoming and pleasant summer atmosphere. You can enjoy a refreshing drink, a light meal and live music. Autumn is a night club, great for mingling, dancing, and hanging out with friends.

One of the highlights of this venue is the glass installation with real autumn leaves inside, that are sucked up and then gently released to give a mesmerizing effect of falling autumn leaves.

Spring is a lounge for those who enjoy freshly brewed coffee with pastries and cakes – a perfect place to relax and enjoy the cozy atmosphere.

Winter is a bar located upstairs and, as the name suggests, will really make you freeze, even in this tropical weather! Put on the warm jackets offered by the staff and step inside the bar, where the temperature drops from 5 up to minus 10 degrees. Don’t worry, the booze and the music beats will keep you warm throughout your visit.

Location: Jalan P. Ramlee
A quick, 3-minute walk from the Petronas Twin Towers will bring you to the busiest night spots in Kuala Lumpur, at Jalan P. Ramlee. Don’t miss the Rum Jungle bar, as it’s the center of the party that attracts crowds to its live R&B music. The ambience and atmosphere of this bar will really feel like a real jungle in the middle of a busy city.
Location: Asian Heritage Row
This stylish and glamorous night club located next to Sheraton Imperial Hotel is a favorite among locals and youngsters, as can be seen by their cool cars parked by the entrance. The club’s interior design has a mixture of contemporary style and local cultural elements. Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa
The Euphoria club is situated near Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, a 25-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur’s city center. Quite a distance, but it’s definitely worth visiting. Since its opening in July 2008, Euphoria has become one of the most popular spots for the young crowd. The club is part of the franchise company “Ministry of Sound” which owns the famous night club in London under the same name. As you step in, you’ll find yourself in a huge sphere-shaped area, featuring a three-story dance floor. A unique twin-layer layout enables two different types of music to be played at the same time. The club hosts the best invited DJs from all over the world and presents different kinds of themed parties. Above all, the service in this club is rather impressive. Seems like it’s too good to be true, which it is – smoking is not allowed in this club.
