151242195QSsuQa_ph.jpgKapalai (Pulau Kapalai) - in fact, the island no longer exists, since all the sand from it was gradually sold off to Singapore. In 1997, there still remained a few small areas, but the next year they were gone as well.

The island has one hotel, which premises are small houses standing on stilts in the water - Kapalai Dive resort. So that guests can watch the marine life, teeming in the clear water, straight from their rooms. And only during low tide a narrow strip of sand is exposed. All that is interesting for diving is located in the coastal zone, so you can dive straight away, or from the boats.

How to get there: to get to the island is by plane from Kuala Lumpur or Kota Kinabalu to Tawau by «MalaysiaKapalai-Island 1.jpgn Airlines» or «AirAsia», then by bus to the pier of Semporna (about 1,5 hours ) and then - 40 minutes by speedboat to Kapalai island.

Attractions: it's a great place for novice divers and muck-diving. This reef is not very picturesque, but thanks to the diversity of marine inhabitants living in the coral reef, the place will be very interesting for enthusiasts of macrofilming
